The BEST Prime Day 2019 Deals for Homesteading

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Year after year I renew my Amazon Prime membership. Living remotely, one of the hardest things for me is the ability to be able to run out and search down a product I might only be able to buy an hour away. I drive a ‘97 Ford F-250 Heavy Duty… let’s just say the gas mileage is bad, only the rear gas tank works, and the possibility that it decides to stop working is high.

Having access to millions of products, many that I can have shipped to my house the next day, is wonderful. We use Amazon Prime to orders things like farm gadgets, parts, animal supplies, kitchen tools & accessories, and even farm clothes. It’s pretty amazing to have a service like that to use to our benefit, especially when we are in a pinch and don’t want to drive into Austin and search at 4 different stores for an obscure homesteading item we need.

To access exclusive Prime member deals, you’ll need a Prime membership. But don’t let that stop you. Amazon offers a 30-day free Prime trial, which would allow you to shop Prime Day, then cancel later if you decide!

THE DEALS

So let’s dive into some of my favorite prime day buys that help with everything from chickens to gardening to kombucha bottling:

**UPDATED DEALS**

SUSHI BAZOOKA:

This thing is amazing. Kayla over at @thehappiesthomesteadonearth got it for me as a gift. Totally takes all the guesswork out of rolling sushi. Just fill it with your ingredients and shoot it out onto a sheet of seaweed. Genius.

CAST IRON COOKWARE:

Anytime you see me posting photos of beautifully charred meat, that’s my Lodge cast iron pan working its magic. I don’t know what I would do without it honestly. This is an awesome set! Definitely a kitchen essential.

Home & Garden

GLASS BOTTLES:

I use these for garden spray-concoctions (like my powdery mildew spray!), misting eggs in the incubator, and cleaning. They’re handy, durable, reusable, and… well… pretty.

EXPANDABLE HOSE:

I don’t know about you but I seem to go through 20 hoses a year. Between the dogs chewing them up or our crazy high water pressure exploding them, I’ve gone through my fair share. I really like the expandable hoses for areas you don’t want a bulky hose blocking the way and tripping everyone in its path. It’s great for your garden or front landscaping.

FOAMING SOAP DISPENSERS:

Want to make your own foaming soap and save money? These reusable foaming soap dispensers allow you to make your own foaming soap out of castile soap + water. See the “how-to” here!

Kitchen

FOOD SCALE:

A food scale is an essential part of my kitchen, especially for bread making! Most bread recipes you see will have the ingredients listed in grams, which makes for super accurate baking. I waited way too long to get one!

BREADMAKING TOOLS:

A few other tools that make breadmaking way more enjoyable and less stressful are a proofing bowl, called a banneton, and some dough scrapers. You’ll thank me later.

BEESWAX WRAPS:

The ultimate way to save food while being mindful of the waste we create in the kitchen! They mold to the tops of containers sealing food and freshness in. They can be reused over and over, unlike plastic wrap and foil.

INSTANT POT:

I went back and forth about if I love my Instant Pot or not. Sure, its bulky. But I decided it’s a really versatile tool that can slow cook, make yogurt, or pressure cook tough meats into fall-off-the-bone goodness.

One of the things that helped me most in my Instant Pot journey was a cookbook. It has straight forward instructions that online recipes might lack, as well as technical information about your new kitchen gadget.

and don’t forget the Instant Pot!

The Animals

THERMOMETER/HUMIDITY GAUGE:

These are super useful in incubation. If you aren’t sure if your incubator is calibrated properly and the temp is running hot or cold, you can put one of these inside to make certain everything is going smoothly. It will give you peace of mind.

SOLAR POWERED LIGHTS:

On a homestead where you probably don’t have access to electricity all over your property, solar lights are KEY. Especially for predator control! These motion sensor lights are great for scaring away nocturnal critters that might be deterred by a bright spotlight revealing their cover.

TACTICAL FLASHLIGHT:

Ok hear me out, other than this being a super cool green tactical/hunting flashlight, its actually super bright and I use it for locking up the chickens at night. Certain animals can’t see green light really well, which allows you to sneak up on some predators without spooking them off. I feel like a spy when I use it. You’ll need to buy a battery charger as well.

DUCK POOL:

Or dog pool, whatever floats your boat. It folds up into a small package unlike the plastic baby pools which can be cumbersome in a small space. It also has a drain for easy cleaning and refilling. The dogs, ducks, and geese love it equally. It also comes with a patch just in case it rips. Be sure to trim your pups toenails before use.

We have the Large size.

PRIME DAY 2019!

Thanks for reading through some of my favorite Amazon buys! I hope they are as helpful to you as they are to me. I will continue to update my Prime Deal showcase as I find more! Happy Primeing!
